Prepare yourselves for some underrated reads. Yes, I am back on my Kindle Unlimited binging. However, I eventually discovered that I would either have to purchase a copy or read it with Kindle Unlimited. So when From Lukov with Love caught my eyes on the socials ( Instagram and TikTok), I immediately added it to my Tbr. BTW, I've only read Luna and the Lie by her, and plan on reading more of her novels, so if you discuss any others please use spoiler markings.I am a casual figure skating fan but a year-round enemies to lover fan.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book, but I feel like sometimes I'm disappointed from missing information. That could have been me missing something earlier on in the book. So frustrating! I also was confused about Paul showing up at the end, and it seemed like it opened up more insight into Jasmine's past partner that we didn't get to see and then it was just dropped. Like in this book we don't even get details about their final competition!! We don't get to hear anything about what the entire book was leading up to. My other qualm is I feel like the books are longer than needed (I can look past that though, because sometimes I'm thankful for more time with the characters), but then the ending is so rushed. I recognize it was probably mainly a way to drive the two of them together and force proximity, but I would have loved to see that resolved in some way. For example, in FLWL there's the entire stalker subplot that just is not addressed after Ivan freaks out about it.
I feel like sometimes, there are loose ends that do not get tied up. Ivan was one of my favorite characters of hers by far and I loved how he called Jasmine "meatball" lolīut that leads me to my one complaint about the novel (and others of hers). Let me start by saying I absolutely adore From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata.
